We will compare Festo and WECON using your axis parameters
We will show the differences in control capabilities, configuration, integration risks and budget — without pushing the more expensive option.
Examples of ready configurations
Servo kits for different applications and budgets
We show matched kits rather than separate components: controller, motor and cables. For the final selection, we verify the mechanics, load, cycle and PLC interface.

Kit contents
What is included in a matched servo kit
The basic kit covers the power section and feedback. Additional components are determined by the mechanics, power supply and control requirements.
01
DRV
Servo controller
Controls motor current, speed and position; receives commands from a PLC or motion controller.
02
MTR
Servo motor
Generates the required torque and provides position and speed feedback.
03
PWR
Power cable
Connects the controller power output to the motor; the version depends on the series and whether a brake is used.
04
ENC
Encoder cable
Carries the feedback signal and must match the encoder, motor and controller type.
Input data
What is required for an accurate calculation
If some parameters are unknown, send a photo of the mechanism, the nameplate of the existing motor or a short description — we will clarify the missing data together.
01
Mechanism type
Screw or belt axis, gearbox, drum, rotary unit or direct drive.
02
Load
Mass, force, torque, direction of motion and whether vertical movement is involved.
03
Motion profile
Stroke, speed or travel time, acceleration, pauses and number of cycles.
04
Power supply
Available voltage, number of phases, control cabinet limitations and power reserve.
05
Control
PLC model, Pulse+Dir or industrial network, number of axes and synchronization requirements.
06
Operating conditions
Temperature, dust, moisture, cable length, brake, mounting and load duty.
Transparent process
From mechanical parameters to a complete specification
Each stage has a clear result that can be checked before the equipment is ordered.
01
Input data
Define the mechanics and cycle
We record the load, stroke, speed, acceleration, operating mode, PLC and power supply.
Result: technical specification for calculation.
02
Calculation
Check torque and inertia
We determine operating and peak torque, speed, reserve and thermal load over the cycle.
Result: acceptable drive range.
03
Configuration
Select Festo or WECON
We match the motor, controller, encoder, brake, PLC interface and cables.
Result: specification with models and part numbers.
04
Implementation
Complete the kit and support commissioning
We coordinate supply and provide recommendations for connection and basic parameters.
Result: a matched system ready for integration.
Quick comparison
Festo or WECON: a guide for the initial choice
The final choice is made only after checking the mechanics and control. The table helps identify the best starting direction.

|---|---|---|
| Typical applications | Critical, dynamic and coordinated machine axes | Standard standalone axes, feeding, positioning and retrofit |
| Control | Industrial networks, diagnostics and safety functions depending on the configuration | Pulse + Direction or EtherCAT depending on the series |
| Power supply | DC or AC platforms depending on series and power | 220 or 380 V depending on kit power |
| Solution format | Project configuration tailored to the cycle, control architecture and machine risks | Matched set of drive, motor and cables |
| Main focus | Predictable integration, diagnostics and scalability | Cost efficiency and practical completeness |
FAQ
Frequently asked questions about servo kits
Did not find the answer? Send the engineer a short description of your application — even if you do not yet have a complete technical specification.
When is Festo the better choice, and when is WECON?
Festo is suitable for critical axes with complex integration and requirements for diagnostics, networking and safety. WECON is suitable for typical axes and retrofits where practical functionality and controlled cost are required.
Are cables included in the kit?
Kit contents depend on the specific offer. We verify the cable set based on the series, motor version and required length.
What if I do not know the torque or inertia?
Send the mechanism type, mass, stroke, speed or travel time. If possible, add a photo, drawing or the model of the existing motor.
Can you select a drive for a retrofit?
Yes. We will check the existing mechanics, power supply, PLC, control method, mounting constraints and whether existing components can be reused.
Can components be purchased separately?
Yes. Individual motors, controllers, cables and accessories are available from Asfero. For a new axis, we recommend checking configuration compatibility first.
