Compressor — a power machine or device for increasing pressure (compression) and moving gaseous substances.
Compressors come in a wide variety of designs and types, differing in pressure and capacity, as well as the type of medium being compressed.
We manufacture and supply air compressors, so we will focus specifically on them below. In addition to air, compressors can compress and transfer various gases, liquids, and solid bulk materials.
What types of compressors are there?
Based on pressure, compressors are divided into the following groups:
vacuum compressors and gas blowers—machines that extract gas from a space with a pressure lower than or higher than atmospheric pressure. Air blowers and gas blowers, similar to fans, create a gas flow; however, they are capable of achieving a positive pressure ranging from 10 to 100 kPa (0.1 … 1 atm), and in some special designs, up to 200 kPa (2 atm). In suction mode, air blowers can create a vacuum, typically 10–50 kPa, and in some cases up to 90 kPa, and operate as a “low-vacuum” pump;
low-pressure compressors, designed to deliver gas at pressures ranging from 0.15 to 1.2 MPa;
medium-pressure compressors—from 1.2 to 10 MPa;
high-pressure compressors—from 10 to 100 MPa.
ultra-high-pressure compressors, designed to compress gas to pressures above 100 MPa.
