Electric Actuators
Electric Actuators are an important component of manufacturing automation. They are often used in applications that require high flexibility and precise positioning. Therefore, electric drive technology is particularly well-suited for free, flexible, and precise positioning, as well as for long travel distances exceeding 1,000 mm at high speeds and with short cycle times. Electric drives also consume less energy during operation than pneumatic drives, for example, and operate smoothly without jerks.
Electric Actuators from Festo
Every application requires different types of mechanical motion—linear or rotary. Our portfolio of electric actuator components is extremely broad: in addition to electric axes, cylinders and carriages, you’ll also find electric rotary actuators, electric clamps, electric machining modules, and the necessary accessories.
Electric axes
Whether it’s a spindle axis, a timing belt axis, or a cantilever axis: electric axes from Festo impress with their high load capacity and rigidity. In addition, we offer toothed belt and spindle axes as a complete solution consisting of an integrated drive, a motor, and a drive controller.
Linear Axes
Electric Cylinders and Carriages
For our electric cylinders and guides, you can choose the drive type: ball screw or lead screw. With strokes ranging from 5 to 500 mm and sizes from 15 to 100, we offer the flexibility needed for a wide range of applications. Here you will also find electric cylinders and guides as complete solutions.
Electric Cylinders and Electric Modules
Electric Rotary Actuators
We offer electric partial-rotation actuators in the form of rotary modules with toothed belts, as rotary actuators with stepper motors and integrated gearheads, as well as complete solutions in the form of rotary actuators with integrated drives, motors, and drive controllers. The product range also includes a front unit with an integrated rotary actuator.

Electric stops
In automation technology, electric stops are used to stop or separate carriers or pallets during transport—for a gentle, quiet, and safe stop, as well as for quick and easy configuration of conveyor systems without compressed air. You can connect our stopper for transported items weighing 0.25 to 100 kg directly to a PLC without an additional motor controller. Power supply, communication, and logic processing take place directly within the device.

Electric control modules
In the field of electric drives for production automation, we also offer electric conveyor technology. A complete handling system with a rotary lifting module combines rotary and linear movements, with both movements capable of operating independently of one another. The rotary gripping module is ideal for gripping and rotating/aligning small objects in laboratory automation or the electronics industry.

Accessories for electric drives
Of course, we also offer the corresponding accessories for our drives. These include additional parts for motor assembly, additional parts for position detection, and additional parts for protective elements, fasteners, and linear guides, as well as damping accessories and drive accessories.
The right drive controllers and motors for every application
In addition to our standard products and those from our core product range, we offer a variety of other products across different categories:
Servo Motors
Stepper Motors
Electric Drive Controllers
Industrial Gearboxes
Accessories for Motor Controllers
All of our products are competitively priced and highly versatile. We offer motors and drive controllers that are ideal for accelerating or decelerating in a matter of milliseconds. Products from Festo are also ideal for precise control of position, speed, and torque, or for controlling and maintaining specific positions with the highest possible accuracy.
Applications for Servo Motors
Festo servo motors are frequently used in sectors or industries where high precision, flexibility, and reliability are required. Examples include:
• plastics manufacturing
• textile manufacturing
• packaging equipment
• robotics
• e-mobility
• medical technology
• metal production
• printing technology
• conveyor technology
Thanks to their dynamics, flexibility, precision, and high performance, they are frequently used in the packaging industry and assembly technology. In plastics manufacturing and medical technology, servo motors are also used to perform precise movements with response times of just a few microseconds. Servo motors and corresponding controllers are also required for precise and automated drilling, bending, and cutting of metal in metal production and processing.
Advantages of Servo Motors and Motor Controllers
The use of servo motors and corresponding motor controllers offers many advantages in manufacturing. Servo motors can reach their full potential, especially in automation processes. The following advantages speak in favor of using servo motors in combination with corresponding motor controllers:
Greater safety: servo motors and motor controllers offer the ability to simultaneously shut down electric motors via a central point in an emergency.
Flexible stacking technology: thanks to the flexible stacking technology of servo controllers, multiple servo motors can be easily connected for asynchronous operation. They can be individually integrated into existing systems or used to develop entirely new systems.
Maximum precision: Speed and torque can be precisely controlled and maintained based on predefined targets. Speed can also be adjusted to the target value in a fraction of a second.
Intelligent controllers: automation and network connectivity are possible directly from the drive. Data can also be processed directly within the drive system itself, for example, to optimize processes.
Increased efficiency: servo motors can be optimized to achieve high performance with minimal energy consumption. Servo motorsrequire minimal maintenance and have a long service life.
