Rodless pneumatic cylinders
Rodless cylinders They are pneumatic actuators and, as the name implies, do not use a piston rod. But even without a piston rod, they perform linear motion, which is why they are also called linear actuators.
Rodless cylinders They are used in applications where a short installation length is an advantage and where the force must be applied as uniformly as possible. With a stroke length of up to 8.5 m, they also provide a much greater travel distance, which is not possible with a standard piston-rod cylinder. Rodless cylinders belong to the group of pneumatic cylinders that operate using compressed air. They are used in a wide range of pneumatic applications, such as conveyors, actuators, or material handling equipment. A characteristic feature of mechanically connected cylinders is that power is transmitted to the piston via a side connection.
Cylinders with mechanical linkage
Cylinders with mechanical linkage These describe pneumatic rodless linear actuators, whose carriages are moved by means of a mechanical coupling with a piston. In this design, the pneumatic chamber is open in the longitudinal direction and sealed externally by a flexible sealing strip in front of and behind the piston. These linear actuators are used particularly where rod-type pneumatic cylindersThey require too much installation space, or a stroke length greater than what is possible with standard pneumatic cylinders.
